Meet Me by the Fountain

Alex proposes to Crystal

Balboa Park, San Diego CA // October 21, 2017

Alex shares with me that he wants to propose to Crystal at Balboa Park right at sunset.   So...I get to Balboa Park a little early to scout out the spot by the fountain. It was a beautiful clear day with a golden touch in the sky. As I set up my camera I notice a little show going on by the fountain. More people start to gather as the guys performing start to set up a major jump. At this point I start to check my phone like every other second and checking Alex's location (I advise that every photographer do that for proposals...). It said that Alex was 15 minutes away.   Finally when the performers finished their parkour, people scattered away and the fountain became vacant for the proposal. So I check his location again and it says hes about 7 minutes away. Now at this time, a HUGE mob of salsa dancers strut towards the fountain and have a spontaneous salsa dancing lesson. There must have been 50 dancers circling me as I sit by the spot that I plan to shoot a proposal in 5 minutes! Dancers are running into me and staring at me as I am not moving my chair. I was determine to annoy them enough to have them move farther from my location. Anything for the shot right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Long story short(ened), Alex and Crystal walk down the Prado towards the fountain and see their friends and family smiling as they anticipate Alex getting on one knee. He pops the questions and they break out in dance as the parkour performers blast Bruno Mars "I Think I Wanna Marry You". It was the most entertaining and joyful proposal. Congradulations you two! I cant wait for June, 2018!
